MIC / Lipotropic
Also called Methionine, inositol and choline
Three compounds involved in the liver's normal fat metabolism, given together as a shot.
What it is
MIC stands for its three components. Methionine is an essential amino acid. Inositol is a carbohydrate involved in cell signalling. Choline is an essential nutrient required to build the phospholipids that let the liver package and export fat.
They are given together as a single intramuscular injection.
What it is used for
- Nutrients involved in the liver's normal fat metabolism*
- Choline contributes to normal lipid transport from the liver*
- Methionine is an essential amino acid the body uses in normal protein synthesis*
- Most often requested as an adjunct alongside a diet and exercise programme*
How we give it
As an intramuscular shot, on its own or added to a drip visit.
Good to know
Is this a weight-loss treatment?
No, and we will not present it as one. MIC is an adjunct: nutrients the liver uses in its normal handling of fat. It is not a substitute for a caloric deficit or for exercise, and anyone selling it to you as a way to lose weight without those is overstating what it is.
